Crystal's Thoughts:
Dahlia London has lost everyone that she loves in her life, from her parents to her fiance, Ben. With a shattered heart she trudges through life, just maintaining, until her best friend talks her into taking on a job for her. There she is reconnected with a person from her past, River Wilde, and given a second chance at love. But will guilt and grief keep her from ever truly giving River her whole heart? And when the past comes calling, will their love be enough?
Kim Karr's new adult romance, Connected, is a story full of love, loss, intrigue and motility. What are the chances of finding the love of your life, twice? That is the story of Dahlia London. How the author weaved Dahlia's tale, interlaced with every emotion available, was both powerful and heartbreaking. Though the story was a bit slow to start with, I wouldn't change a sentence of it. She takes you on a journey through Dahl and Ben's relationship, two people who have known each other since childhood. Best friends and lovers. With a chance encounter Dahl meets River, but it wasn't yet their time. Then Dahl looses Ben. Raw and poignant, Dahl's loss is crippling. But just in time River walks back into her life, and though their relationship is not easy, there is a connection there that cannot be denied. It's Fate. And River was..*sigh*..just perfect. Not unbelievably perfect, but perfect. He never tried to replace Ben in Dahlia's heart and understood her conflict when it came to her feelings for him as well as the fact that Ben will always have a place in her heart and he will always have to share her with him. But what does River know about Ben that he has been keeping from Dahlia? I have a feeling...and it's not a good one. As you move to the last half of the book secrets are everywhere, your heart is fully invested in River and Dahl, and you're crossing your fingers for the best. At least I was. And then you are hit with a ten pound bag of bricks! Holy smokes what an ending/cliff-hanger. I knew something was up but I didn't expect that twist! I am dying for Torn now, literally on pins and needles until it's release.
If you love the emotional roller-coaster that a romance can put you on, a story-line that comes alive on the pages, and characters that you can't help but love then pick up Kim Karr's Connected today!
