After being plunged into a chaotic and deceitful society, Maria Guerrero finds comfort in the arms Enrique Torres, a man she believes is innocent of her world. She keeps him ignorant of her inner monster, and the blood oath she took to save her brother's life. Instead she prefers to use their sexual play as an escape from her supernatural world. When her secrets catch up with her, Maria is forced to confess her sins. Will Enrique find it in his heart to forgive her deception? He must, before her vampire master demands that Maria pays him his due. With the help of a disillusioned fey warrior, she convinces Enrique that vampires are real, and danger lurks around every corner. Enrique can’t allow himself to fall for Maria charms, or he’ll risk revealing secrets of his own -- secrets which would not only scare her, but put his mission in jeopardy. He hopes that by forming a physical connection with the young vampire, he’ll lower her defenses and earn her trust, for only she can help him bring peace to the Immortal Realm. As they play out their sexual fantasies, her true identity is uncovered. On impulse Enrique gives her his trust, and her betrayal hurts him to the core. Now he wants revenge… but at what cost? As the Immortal Realm descends into chaos, Enrique and Maria must choose whether to trust each other again, or fall victims to the dark deceptions that rule their world. Book is primarily m/f, but does contain one m/f/m scene. There is some light bondage and food play.

My Thoughts:
This was a good and quick read with plenty of erotic scenes- twosomes, threesomes, backdoor, some bondage, lots to get you all hot and bothered with.
The story flowed nicely and I was captivated by the Immortal Realm which consists of vampires, werewolves and fey. Enrique was a fabulous alpha hero that gives up his humanity for the women he loves only the have her leave with his enemy. Unknowing that Maria did it to protect him and her very aggravating brother; he bides his time getting stronger and learning the dark arts to exact his revenge on her and her master.
Maria is a bit of the ‘heroine in distress’. She is indebted to an evil vampire, Carlos, for her and her brother’s lives and agrees to seduce a council member in order for Carlos to glean information about the council’s actions and implement war against them. Unbeknownst to Carlos though, she develops deep feelings for Enrique that compromises her mission and she walks a delicate line of deception between the two.
The plot is unique and had excitement, adventure, betrayal and subterfuge that kept me entertained. Though for some reason I was easily distracted from the story, I think it was because I felt that the main characters could of used more development with their relationship together. There was no doubt that they had chemistry but I would of liked to see more of their emotional journey along with their sexual escapades. I did like the ending though. =)
If you like your vampires scorching hot and are looking for a quick read then I would recommend Dark Deception.

Long ago Javier chose to walk away from one person that mattered most in his life. Now that he is free to once again roam the Earth, he becomes obsessed with making up for past mistakes. His mission is to gain Catherine’s vote on the Immortal Council, but when he sees her he realizes he wants much more than her support for the vampires. He wants her heart. When she disappears from the Immortal Council’s halls, he tracks her down, determined to get her to remember the past — and the love they once shared. Catherine can’t let the passion she had with Javier rekindle again — no matter what the cost. Much has changed since he abandoned her so long ago. With the Immortal Council fragmented and her werewolf king abducted, Catherine has little patience for Javier’s empty promises. Still, Javier is persistent, and soon she sees the value in having an ancient vampire for an ally. A deal is struck: she will submit to his every carnal desire if she can gain his aid in finding her king.Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, and their erotic interludes ignite the passionate anger of Catherine’s only fey ally. Can the three of them put aside their obsessions long enough to free the tortured werewolf king? They must do it soon, for a dark presence looms on the horizon that threatens the stability of the Immortal Realm – and will force Catherine to choose between her clan and her heart.
My Thoughts:
Dark Obsession continues with the scorching eroticism of those in the Immortal Realm. Another easy & quick read that was good. Just like in the first novel, there is an explosion of hot sex scenes that includes bondage, ménages and m/m; though those weren’t pleasant and I felt were a tad over used.
Catherine is undercover in the fey king, Feroas’s, camp with her council partner and sometimes lover Talen when her past lover, Javier, shows up trying to rekindle the romance they had two centuries ago. To save the were king that Feroas is hiding and to discover how he obtaining extra power, Catherine must make a deal with Javier to submit to his every desire in return for his help in their mission. But Catherine is torn between her obligations to her clan and the council, her loyalty to Talen and the love that still blooms for Javier along with the passion they share, though she knows that she will never be able to trust him again not to leave her.
Javier enters Feroas’s camp determined to return to Barcelona with Catherine and pick up were they left off two hundred years ago. But Catherine is no longer the innocent demure council senator he remembers, she has grown into a strong, independent woman since his departure and will not meekly comply with his demands. In order to earn her trust and love once again he must help in her mission and bury his jealousy for the fey, Talen, while navigating the dangerous roads of Egypt.
Again, as I said with Dark Deception, I felt that the characters had more of a sexual chemistry then true emotions. The author gave some creative twist to a few love scenes with magical ribbons and fantasies. Though these scenes were intense and I enjoyed reading about them, I found myself connecting with Talen more and I look forward to reading his story, which is hopefully next.
There was a lot of magick use and reference throughout the story that sometimes lost me but added an interesting aspect. The ending was left open, not neatly tied together but you know that this couple will stick it out. Deceit, intrigue, peril and desire; Dark Deception will satisfy your most basic carnal needs in a paranormal erotica.
Rating for both novels: 3.5 - A good read and I will continue the series
