Question of the Week: What book were you reading when you read your first sex scene?
I'm pretty sure, but not absolutely certain that it was Jo Goodman's The Captain's Lady. Back in the day when I use to hide my stash of historical romances (aka my bodice rippers) under my bed/dresser where my cats then preceded to destroy them, only to find out all these years later that my mom knew about them anyways! She told me that she picked one up one day and opened to a certain page only to blush and slam the book closed!
LoL See, I've always been a smut lover!

Not a big fan of historical romances myself. My mother doesn't read books at all, I have tried to get her to read one because I know she'll like it hehe But have had no success.
ReplyDeleteYay for smut ;)
Love this question, I totally remember. I did not start reading until like 2 years ago. So I never had an issue with anyone knowing.lol.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love a good bodice ripper. It's been a while since I've read any really smutty ones.
ReplyDeleteGreat question this week!
ReplyDeleteI love bodice rippers and I'm always on the hunt for them!
Have a great weekend!
Your mom blush? Never! LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy mom never had a problem with me reading romance I actually had a subscription to HQN when I was like 16 that paid for with Babysitting money.
ReplyDeleteKel- I know, right? That's what I said when she told me!
ReplyDeleteNanny- She didn't have a problem with what I was reading, she was just surprised by it. And me being 16, I was embarrassed for others to know what I was reading, especially since none of my friends read those books, or books period! lol I'm over that embarrassment now though obviously!
I'm new to this! I'm not solely a book blogger but I review a lot of books and I'm starting to review more. I'm definitely a place for those over 18 so I figured I would fit here :)
ReplyDeleteGreat question!
I have only read one historical romance novel that was my mom's and wasn't a big fan of it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really start reading a lot until a couple years ago and my mom was the one to introduce me to the smuttiness. Lol
