What Happens When Good Guys…Go Bad (Angel-style)?
Hi, everyone! It’s a pleasure to be blogging with you today! (A big thanks to Crystal for inviting me over!) I thought for this post, I’d talk about good guys. Or rather, good guys who go bad. Since it’s Halloween season, how about we put a spin on these guys? How about we say they go bad for a supernatural reason?Such as…a guy who gets turned into a vampire. One day, he’s Mr. Nice Guy; the next—he wants to suck your blood.
Or maybe a guy who falls prey to the power of the moon. One day, he’s Mr. Perfect; the next—he’s Mr. Perfectly Furry.
Or maybe, just maybe…you have a guy who is so good that he’s got wings. He’s an angel. Beyond temptation. (Cough, cough, he’s supposed to be beyond it.) Only he doesn’t do his job and he gets punished. One day, Mr. Angel; the next—hello, Fallen.
In my upcoming paranormal romance (ANGEL OF DARKNESS, out 11/29/11 from Kensington Brava—Yay!), my hero, Keenan, was one of the good guys. Can you get much better than an angel on the good guy scale? But, he wasn’t your average angel. He was an Angel of Death, and when he fell, he learned just how to be very, very bad.He learned about sin (thanks to my heroine). He learned about pain (giving it more than receiving it). He learned about fury. About power.
Keenan learned all about the darkness that can hide in a man’s heart. Sometimes, bad boys can be sexy. Sometimes, they can be downright dangerous.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite paranormal bad guy (who was once good) would have to be Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. And I know most of you are saying, WHAT? He's a bad guy who in now good!
Well I'll explain it to you:
When Damon was human he was good, he was in the army, he was a good son and brother until he met Katherine Pierce who fed him her blood, tricked him so many times and used and abused him.
Then he got shot when he and his brother tried and failed to save Katherine, and he died but came back as vampire.
His brother, Stefan, forced him into drinking human blood so he would become vampire. And now Damon became bad after a while of being vampire, but right now he is good.

Who cares that they were once good? I like them much more once they are bad. Tee Hee!! I fall for the bad-bad guy but shows a good side when motivated. For example, I'm sure you know by now how much I love your level 10 demons! (I tell you every chance I get) The demons are very bad but they will show a good side for their lady love. : )

Well......Can't really think of any sinfully naughty badboys that were ever good! I suppose when they were first out of the womb, they had to be good for a short spell, but then again, maybe not! This is a very tough question!! Bad is so much better anyway!

Because I love him I'm going with Niol. He was good then bad and now he's good again (well when he wants to be ;) ). In the YA I'm going with the TV version of The Vampire Diaries with Damon. He can't seem to make up his mind what he wants to be.

I love all the bad boys so much that I would never be able to pick a favorite so instead I'm going to list the very first bad boy I fell in love with and that would have to be Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights :) I was in 8th grade when I fell in love with him and he has always held a special place in my heart, crazy or not you to love a guy who spends his whole life avenging a love that was taken from him!!

Hmm favorite good guy gone bad? If from a movie it would have to be Michael on Underworld. If from a book, then it would probably have to be Jacob Black in Twilight New Moon by Stephanie Meyer! How about bad guys gone good? That would easily fall to Professor Snape in the Harry Potter books! He was such an easy character to despise until you discover that he was seriously misunderstood!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Diane, Raphael was my first thought (Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series). He's good, but also has bad tendencies since he's so old and not used to having a partner. But we still love him!
