Fleeing into the wilderness to escape an abusive marriage, Lady Isabelle Tynsdale would sooner face down a wild boar than spend another night with her wretched husband. Battered by the elements, desperate to elude a band of attackers, and defending herself against, as fate would have it, a wild boar she is rescued by the handsome Laird David Campbell.Campbell knows holding Isabelle captive for ransom is his best chance to temper the storm threatening to destroy his clan. The ransom of an English countess should be more than enough to pay off his debts to England and save him from an unwanted marriage. But Isabelle didn't escape her husband just to become another man's captive and Laird Campbell is seriously misguided if he thinks she's going to go quietly.GoodReads

Lila Munro (Guest Post)
Good morning! I'd like to welcome spicy contemporary romance author Lila Munro who is joining us today for her release of Three For Keeps, enjoy!
Sub-culture or Sub-genre? That is the Question…
Many times as writers we are asked what our inspiration was for penning a particular piece. When asked this about my current release, Three for Keeps, I had to take pause and think for a minute. For any one that’s not aware, Three for Keeps embodies a poly-relationship between my heroine, Zoey, and her three men. It also encompasses a few BDSM elements. I can tell you, personal experience with a ménage situation wasn’t my inspiration. J So what was? How does one become inspired to write such things?
Review: The Highlander's Sword by Amanda Forester
(Highlander #1)
by Amanda Forester
Mass Market Paperback, 352 pages
Published March 1st 2010 by Sourcebooks, Incorporated (first published 2010)
ISBN 1402229488
Scottish Highlands romance is a perennial favorite, especially when it's as intriguing and sexy as The Highlander's Sword. Set against the backdrop of the rugged Scottish Highlands and the tumultuous 14th century, Lady Aila Graham is destined for the convent until her brother's death leaves her an heiress and her father hastily arranges a marriage for her with a Highland warrior she's never met. Misunderstandings between the battle-hardened knight and his lady are exploited by their enemies and threaten the entire clan. Only by throwing caution to the winds and forging a powerful bond together can they rout a traitor and save their people—and their love—from destruction.…
Amanda Forester weaves a beautiful tale in The Highlander’s Sword, of the wilds of the Scottish Highlands where distrust and betrayal come together with love and redemption.

Sexy Snippets: Deadly Pursuit by Nina Croft
*ARC
His lips moved lower, and he kissed the sharp jut of her hipbone, the hollow at the top of her thighs. Burrowing his nose in the silky red curls at the base of her belly, he breathed in the warm scent of her arousal, and his cock jerked in response. He needed her, and soon, but first he wanted her hot for him, so the horrors of the day would be driven from her mind. He shifted down her body, parted her thighs, and kissed the mound of her sex.
Tour: Deadly Pursuit by Nina Croft (Guest Post & Giveaway)
Welcome back lovelies! Today I'd like to welcome author Nina Croft who is stopping by on her book tour for the newest release in her Blood Hunter series, Deadly Pursuit! Nina is a new favorite author of mine who has created a fantastical world of exciting space adventures with sexy vampires and werewolves! I think Nina fits right in here at RBtW so I hope you'll enjoy her post! P.S. You can check out my review on this series *here*
I love the title of this blog – reading between the wines – it pretty much sums up my life – well reading and writing between the wines.
I’m Nina Croft. I’m English, but I live on an almond farm in the mountains of southern Spain. And on the farm, I have a small vineyard, which clings to the side of a mountain (so steep it has to be ploughed by mules) where I grow grapes and make red wine (my beverage of choice). Not on a big scale, just enough to keep us going – 500 liters or so.

The Savannah Coven Series by Suza Kates (Guest Post & Giveaway)
Today I'd like to welcome author Suza Kates over who has a fantastic paranormal romance series, The Savannah Coven Series. Suza is joining us with a fun guest post today and an awesome giveaway, enjoy!
The questions I hear most from readers usually have to do with the creation of the Savannah Coven Series, why I chose witches, and where I get my ideas. I always take a long pause as I try to figure out what to say, because the truth is, the idea was originally just a stray thought.
I’d just finished one of my favorite trilogies for the tenth time, and was thinking how much I enjoyed stories about witches and wondering why there weren’t more out there. (This was on the paranormal upswing, just before the explosion!) I decided to write my own and intended the books to be full of magic, camaraderie, danger, and romance. This was three years ago.

Lucy V. Morgan of Beautiful Mess (Guest Post & Free eBook)
Today I'd like to welcome author Lucy V. Morgan over who is talking about her new erotic romance novella, Beautiful Mess.
Heroes: I Like 'Em Messy
by Lucy V. Morgan
The romantic hero is a strange beast. He has to encompass just enough fantasy to make him worth reading about--worth dreaming about--but also needs to be real enough for you to believe he could exist. Some people love the fantasy parts most of all; hell, I've been in that boat, needing that bit of hope. Other people relish the more understated characteristics, even the faults...the things that make him believable as a human being. As both a reader and a writer, I fall smack-bang into that second category. One might say I went head over heels.
As much as I love the stories about the billionaires (who wouldn't want one of those?), the cowboys (I get Stetson envy), the vampires (who says romance is undead?)...a bit of me wants to know that normal, everyday guys can be heroes too. This is probably how I came to write about them. I love a smooth rich dude as much as the next girl, but I can't help getting excited about the quiet, hot guy in the office who blushes when you talk to him, because you just know by the time you've bolstered his ego a bit and got him into the bedroom, he's going to be delightfully bossy. That's a side only his lover gets to see. It's this vulnerability that gets me, and the confidence that emerges as he grows.

When her sister is left at the altar, Zoe Balis takes the bride's unused ticket for the honeymoon cruise. But she didn't count on sharing a cabin with the man who broke her heart ten years ago! Army medic Nate Hyatt never told Zoe the real reason he dumped her. And he never stopped dreaming about the girl he left behind. Could this voyage be his chance to fix the worst mistake he ever made? Once aboard, Zoe and Nate team up on an island-hopping treasure hunt. The stakes grow higher with each of Zoe's mysterious brushes with death. They race to discover why she's a target and who's behind it. Zoe's never gotten over her first love. Can Nate breach her defenses and suture her broken heart? Grab a deck chair and see if they survive the stormy relationship seas as they cruise toward love!
Lexy’s Thoughts:
Have you seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding? All that family crowing around, telling you what to do, getting in your personal business and looking at you with pity. Zoe has all that to deal with on top of facing the guy who stole her heart then disappeared.
Winner, winner, turkey dinner!

In a tale of strong ties and true love, Maya Banks’s trilogy comes to its stunning conclusion, as the youngest McCabe brother uses sword and seduction to save his clan—and seal his heart. Caelen McCabe’s young, reckless heart nearly destroyed his clan. Now, putting family loyalty above all else, he steps up to marry his older brother’s jilted bride and salvage the uneasy alliance between two clans. While beautiful Rionna McDonald is a fit wife for any man, Caelen trusts no woman, especially not this sweet temptress who torments him with white-hot longing.GoodReads
As the sacrificial lamb in her father’s power game, Rionna will do her duty but vows to protect her heart and her pride from humiliation. Despite everything, though, the heat in Caelen’s touch melts her defenses, and she craves the sensual delights of a husband who guards his emotions as fiercely as his clan. But when the ultimate battle for the McCabe legacy is upon them, Rionna’s true warrior spirit emerges. She will risk the wrath of her father, the fury of her enemies, and her life to prove to Caelen that his wife’s love is too precious to lose.

Lexy’s Thoughts:
A romance novel is so much more than just a romance novel. It is an escape, a way to explore, a history lesson, imagination at its finest, a description of the values we want our men to have, relationship advice and even sometimes what you need to get your blood pumping.
All of that and so much more is what Ellery struggles to accept and describe in her quest to unlock the answer to why people (not only women) read romances. A Novel Seduction gives you answers along with plenty of humor and a happy ending.

When snobbish book critic Ellery Sharpe screws up at Vanity Place magazine, her boss assigns her the ultimate punishment: write an ode to romance novels, a genre she considers the literary equivalent of word search puzzles. To make matters worse, he hires her sexy former party boy ex, Axel Mackenzie, to shoot the photos. Axel really wants the project to succeed. For one, the magazine will double his fee if he convinces strong-willed Ellery to write a story no woman can resist. Besides, getting Ellery to fall for romance novels might be just the push she needs to believe people can change . . . even him. At his sister’s advice, Axel gives Ellery a copy of Kiltlander, a much-adored romance whose warrior hero is utterly irresistible. To her dismay, Ellery finds herself secretly falling in love with the story—and with Axel, who’s drawing his own lessons from the book’s compelling hero. With her carefully crafted image of herself crumbling and her dream job on the line, will Ellery risk it all to make the leap from tight-lipped literati to happily-ever-after heroine?GoodReads

ISBN 1451639503

The first in New York Times bestselling author Candace Camp’s new Regency trilogy is a Christmas love story featuring a couple who find an abandoned baby in a manger—who may lead them to the truth in their own hearts.
Thea is a vicar’s daughter, dutiful to a fault—even if sometimes she tires of caring for everyone around her. One snowy day in December, Thea goes to church to check on the nativity scene—and finds a crying baby nestled in the manger! The babe has no identification other than a signet ring belonging to Gabriel, the local lord. Before Thea can think twice, she snatches up the child and marches off to give the earl a piece of her mind.
Gabriel at first thinks the windblown, furious woman who appears in his hall is accusing him of fathering her child—but it soon becomes clear that the baby is not his. Then how did the child come to have Gabriel’s ring wrapped in its swaddling? Gabriel, a bachelor, has no notion of how to care for an infant and begs Thea for her continued help. As the two work together to search for his rightful parents, they are powerfully drawn to one another. Gabriel can’t help but admire Thea’s fresh, striking beauty and her tender heart, while Thea daydreams about more than a friendship with the bold but honorable lord. But someone is determined to keep them from finding the truth about this wayward baby—even if it means silencing one or both of them for good.

Amanda Forester of The Highlander's Heart (Interview & Giveaway)
Good morning everyone and happy hump day! Today I'd like to welcome historical romance author, Amanda Forester, over. Amanda is celebrating the release of her second Scottish Romance, The Highlander's Heart, and joining us for an interview and giveaway. Enjoy!
Hi, Amanda, and welcome to Reading Between the Wines. I am so excited that you could join us today!
Let’s start off with you, can you tell us a little bit about yourself please?
Thank you so much for inviting me to chat with you today! I am so excited to be sharing my latest release, The Highlander's Heart. This journey started many years ago when my husband was deployed to Iraq. Those were the longest 14 months of my life. Reading historical romance novels helped get me through some tough times. Fortunately, my husband came home, and I got inspired to start writing stories that had always been swirling around in my brain. It is great to share one with you!

Moira Rogers (Interview & Giveaway)
Today I have the pleasure of having the fabulous writing duo of Moira Rogers over for an interview on their Southern Arcana series! Enjoy and make sure to enter the giveaway at the end! Also, you can check out my review of the first novel in the Southern Arcana series, Crux.
Welcome to Reading Between the Wines, I’m so happy you could join us today. J For readers who are unfamiliar with your work, can you please tell us; who is Moira Rogers?
Bree: Moira Rogers is the penname I use when writing books with my best friend, Donna. I like to pretend she’s an international woman of mystery.
Writing as a team must get pretty interesting at times, do you have any kind of rituals that you do before writing or is there anything that you must have when writing?
Donna: I need to be sitting at my desk with my shoes on. My husband recently informed me this is quite ridiculous, as my feet have nothing to do with my brain or my fingers, but there you have it. LOL It’s a mental thing.

Sexy Snippets: The Highlander's Sword by Amanda Forester
MacLaren said nothing, but spread her chemise on the grass and pulled her down onto it with him. He moved slowly, as if not wanting to spook a skittish filly, his eyes never leaving hers. She blushed at being so exposed, but soon she was completely covered with a warm male blanket. She gasped at the sensation, so much of her touching so much of him. Aila ran her hands over his bulging arms and down his back. Everything about him was muscular and hard. MacLaren groaned. "Ah, but ye are beautiful." He nuzzled her neck and rocked his hips on hers. It was like nothing she had ever felt before, and she was suddenly very glad she had decided against the vow of chastity. His demanding kiss, hot and urgent, made her doubly sure of her choice. She returned his kiss and felt the world start to spin again. Good thing she was lying down.

Tour: Kill Me Tomorrow by Diane Alberts (Excerpt & Giveaway)
Morning lovelies! Today we have a special excerpt and giveaway for author Diane Albert's book tour of Kill Me Tomorrow. Enjoy!
Jasmine Baruch is a jinn-a supernatural being who fights demons with fire. While that's difficult enough, she's got bigger problems. She's a virgin, and in the jinn culture, that is sheer blasphemy. Jinn are supposed to be passionate, promiscuous creatures-everything she isn't. Due to marry the next day, she takes matters into her own hands by using 1NS. But, like the rest of her life, nothing is easy. The man chosen for her, though incredibly gorgeous, is a demi-sanguine; a half-human, half-demon-her enemy.
Gavin Werbato is looking for an easy night of sex. Nothing more, nothing less. Instead, he gets a gorgeous jinn convinced it is her duty to kill him. He can certainly think of better things to do with her soft hands than murder. He need only convince her of that...
Can the fire sparked when these beings collide be controlled, or will it consume their world as they know it?

Christi Barth of Cruising Toward Love (Guest Post & Giveaway)
Happy Hump Day fabulous readers! Today I'd like to welcome author Christi Barth over with her new release, Cruising Toward Love. (Look for Lexy's review of this coming soon!)
Forget the Wine – Pass Me the Rum!
Like all of you, I’m a big fan of pouring a glass of wine and relaxing with a book. But today I’m going to ask you to switch it up and focus on reading with rum. My current release Cruising Toward Love takes place on a Caribbean cruise. The Caribbean region is famous – and rightly so – for their rum (yum!). And given the time of year, I’m going to start with a recipe tip – buy yourself some run of the mill grocery store eggnog (even the lowfat version), and add some spiced rum to it. Phenomenal! Of course, there’s nothing wrong with piña coladas, daiquiris, or the classic rum & coke.

A story filled with pain and heartache, until she meets Gregory Foxworth: a debonair CEO to the family shipping company. Gregory remembers taking her away from a life that shocks him, hoping to shelter and love her. But little does he know all he has done, was make her a target for a sadistically warped man. Sexy Snippets: Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward
In the glow of black candles, Vishous was bent over with his head down, his leather-clad hips driving back and forth, his bare shoulders and massive arms flexed up hard. Beneath him, a female was tied down on a table at her wrists and ankles, her body wrapped in leather except for the tips of her breasts and where V was slamming into her core. Even though there was a mask over her face and a ball gag in her mouth, Butch was pretty damn sure she was on the verge of a orgasm. She was making little mewling noises, begging for more even as tears streaked down her leather-covered cheeks. When V's head lifted from the female's neck, his eyes were glowing and his fangs were long as...well, she might need stitches, put it that way.

Saloon Girls
I find it ironic that perhaps the most liberated women of the wild west were the ones that worked in saloons as dance hall girls. I’m not talking about the women that sold their favors and worked in brothels or cribs. No, I’m talking about the women that worked in respectable saloons made their money by keeping men company in the predominantly male western towns of the frontier.
These women came from all walks of life including single mothers, widows, and women looking to start a new life often under a new name or identity. By working in a saloon they would earn far more than they could in any other job and the work was quite easy. Their man job at the saloon was to sing for the men, dance with them and talk with them while persuading them to spend more money at the bar or gaming tables.
