Being originally from Germany, I love the Glühwein the Germans make around Christmas. It’s hot mulled wine, but the exact translation is “glowing wine”. Guess, it’s because it makes your cheeks glow when you’re drinking too much of it.
Here’s the recipe:
1 bottle of dry red wine (750 ml)
1 orange
2 sticks of cinnamon
3 cloves
3 tablespoons of sugar
some cardamom (or ginger)
Directions:
Heat the red wine in a pot (don't boil). Cut the orange into slices and add to the wine. Then add the cinnamon, cloves, sugar and a little cardamom (to taste). Heat everything for about 5 minutes - do not boil - and let stand for about an hour. Before serving, reheat and strain. Serve in pre-warmed glasses or mugs.
Enjoy! And as you lean back on your couch and pull up your feet underneath you, maybe it’s time to invite one of the Scanguards Vampires into your house. All of them are Alphas and smoldering hot, but Zane, the hero of Zane’s Redemption (released November 3), is not just sexy, but as tortured as they come. Go ahead, and see if you can heal him.
Merry Christmas!

The last thing vampire bodyguard Zane wants to do is to guard a hybrid, a half-vampire, half-human, whose father wants to keep her a virgin. Known for his violent temper and callous lack of compassion, Zane’s out-of-control rage, born of the cruelty he suffered during the Holocaust, drives him to focus only on revenge. Trying to find the last of his torturers is his only goal in life.Portia is a young hybrid with a serious dilemma: in a few weeks, her body will be set in its final vampire form. If she is to avoid having to live out her immortal life as a virgin, she must find a lover in that short time—something her father hires Zane to prevent. The moment Portia and Zane meet, rules begin to bend, and a forbidden attraction bursts into flames hotter than the hell of Zane’s past. But that past threatens to pull them apart unless they can overcome their prejudice, forsake hate for love, and revenge for forgiveness.
