By Cindy Gerard
10. If called upon, romantic suspense heroes (and heroines) can kick Vampire’s butts any day of the week.
9. Page turning action.
8. Toe curling romance.
7. Transports readers to exotic locations.
6. The suspense really won’t kill you – but it will get your heart racing.
5. Kick butt heroes and heroines.
4. Hot, hunky heroes with heart, soul, integrity and the intelligence to be a perfect match for the heroine.
3. Tests your mental acuity – can you guess who done it? Or who is going to do it? Or IF the hero will save the heroine on time? Or, if the heroine will save the hero on time?
2. No one drinks anyone else’s blood.
And the number 1 reason Romantic Suspense is the best genre ever:
The best writers in the business call romantic suspense home.

The best thing about Suspense is the Unknown....the not knowing what is coming next. And of course the Sizzling Chemistry between the Hero and Heroine that is hightened by the intense situation!

Thanks for a fantastic post! I agree w/ all your points! But I love RS b/c of the danger. The romance seems sharper and more meaningful b/c they don't know if they'll live to see tomorrow! And you're right, the heros/heroines are better in RS b/c they have to succeed on their wits and skills alone not superpowers :)
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the combination of romance with suspense because it's like getting two books in one. It sets a nice pace and keeps me on edge.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite things are the steamy sex scenes and the suspence of the who-done-it. I always try to think of who did it and then when the end comes I am always blown away. Loved the blurb. What a gorgeous cover.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.

I like the mystery and the romance rolled into one. It keeps you guessing on both sides.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love most? The romance...if you do a staraight up romance I get bored, but with suspenseful romances it makes the romance so much better, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about it, is it keeps me guessing who did it, but I still get losts of romance too. Just the way I like my books.

Well aside from the romance which is just stellar I like the mystery of who doing what to everyone. Gets the blood and brain flowing to figure it out before the ending.
