Today I would like to welcome author Kris DeLake, otherwise known as Kristine Kathryn Rusch, who is joining us with her recent release of Assassin's In Love! Make sure to check out Lexi's review of this novel as well. Enjoy!
How To Date An Assassin
Kris DeLake
Does anyone voluntarily date an assassin? I mean, really, how many people admit on an online profile—oh, yeah, and by the way, I kill people for a living. Or can you imagine someone saying that over dessert at a fancy restaurant?
I kill people, Jane. And you?
Naw. Just doesn’t work.
And yet, for some reason, I’m attracted to characters in the darker professions. I like characters who have shades of gray in their make-up. I’m really not fond of black-and-white at all.
Which is where Assassins in Love comes in. Rikki and Misha do go on a date. Kinda. But their meet-cute is over a dead body, and Misha already knows what Rikki does for a living. He disapproves, but not because of her job. Because of the way she does it. He doesn’t think she’s by-the-book. She agrees: she thinks the book should be tossed.
So Assassins in Love does show assassins on a first date. But the key word here is “assassins.” Clearly these two people have something in common.
And neither of them is shocked by the demands of the profession.
It’s not quite a match made in heaven. But Rikki and Misha make for an explosive combination.
Assassins are human, and they do fall in love.
Sometimes they even fall in love with each other.
And sometimes they fall in love on the very first date.
When one killer falls for another
Agent: Misha Profile: Highly trained in every method the assassins guild has to offer. Always goes by the book.
Agent: Rikki Profile: Rogue assassin who kills only to rid the world of hardened criminals. Hates organizations. Always does it her way.
Love becomes a matter of life and death
Misha's mission is to get Rikki to join the guild or give up her guns. He completely underestimated the effect she would have on him...and what heat and chaos they could bring to each other...

Sounds very interesting and a cool concept as long as it doesn't veer into Mr. and Mrs. Smith territory. Somehow being an assassin seems to be no laughing matter. ;-)
