Awesome book. Loved it. Wow it seems like everyone I know is reading Fifty Shades of Grey this week. I just lent mine out to a co-worker and a few of our clients are also reading it. I have not read the others yet. Sorry babe will have to play next week. Haha I had too much wine Sat. and played with my blog and had to revamp it. Haha Don't drink and blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat snippet--I'm still not completely sure if I'll read this series or not...I've heard a lot of great things about it, but it's not the kind I would normally pick up. *Shrugs* But who knows. Maybe one of these days. If I can conquer the TBR mountain in my room first... :)

ReplyDeleteThat's the one scene in the book that upset me the most. When he left her afterward, she felt violated and it was obvious.
I thought the hottest scene in the book was when they got into the elevator and he said, "F*@k the paperwork!" and pushed her against the wall and kissed her. I grinned like a fiend at that and I was sitting amidst all kinds of folks waiting for my car. LOL!!

ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I am among the minority with this book--IMHO, there are much better BDSM books out there.

I found it an emotional read and that was a pretty intense scene, Amy but I think the belt scene near the end was more so. The thing is, Christian didn't see it that way. It's kind of the 'two sides' thing and you have to be able to see both with this book. There are some definite steamy elevator scenes in this series though, for sure! ;)
ReplyDeleteTrish; ground-breaking BDSM book, I agree this is not. ;) But as a novel alone, I loved the characters and all the emotions surging through it. I'm not sure whether I will do a review on it, maybe a short discussion or my thoughts? *shrugs* We shall see...

ReplyDeleteI agree about the belt scene, the difference for me was that she didn't let him touch her after he used the belt. When he spanked her, she still felt she couldn't react to it - hence my sense of violation. I know she goes back again even after the belt but for a moment in time she said, 'enough' and stood up to him.
Have you read the next one or are you? I haven't decided yet and thankfully my TBR list is too long to give into it now. : )
