I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.Goodreads
I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.
And now I’m going back.
After ten years.
I hope I can explain that after all this time.
I still want her to be my forever girl.

Crystal's Thoughts:
Forever My Girl is a sweet and romantic story about high school sweethearts, second chances and a sexy rock star.
Liam had his future all planned out; college, a career in the NFL, marriage to his high school sweetheart, a house and kids....but once he got to college his plans changed and he left his home town of Beaumont, and his heart. Ten years later he is a famous musician but he has never forgotten his girl or the friends he grew up with. When he sees in the paper that his best friend was killed in a car accident he finally comes home. It was just suppose to be a quick in and out trip, but when a young boy approaches him Liam's life is forever changed. Confronting Josie, his long time love and the girl whose heart he broke, Liam knows that all of the old feelings he had for her are still there. But she's moved on, Josie has a whole new family now and doesn't want him near it. But Liam is determined to not only be a part of the family, but a part of Josie's heart again. Can he convince her that he made the biggest mistake of his life ten years ago and that he won't leave again? Or has she closed her heart to him forever and moved on for good?
Forever My Girl was such a sweet and compelling story. I was hooked by the author's soulful words right from the beginning. Chock full emotion, I was up late into the night reading. What is going to happen when Liam confronts Josie? What is going to happen between Nick and Josie with Liam back? How will it affect Noah? Will Katelyn and her girls weather through this storm? Will Josie ever forgive Liam? Will Liam stick around for good? So many questions that I had to have answered right then! The development and the delivery of the story totally captured me. The transition between Liam and Josie's POV was executed smoothly, sometimes it is difficult to pull off the first person but the author managed it masterfully. I loved how bit's and pieces of Josie and Liam's past was woven into the story line as well. It gave you a much fuller feel for the story and their romance, which despite the exploding chemistry from the beginning, was slow burning but heart melting and believable. You could really feel the trust build between them again as you read and the characters came to life from the pages.
This is one of those books where I was sad when the story finally came to the end, I wanted more Josie and Liam. Hopefully we'll see more of their HEA in the next installment though, I am looking forward to Harrison and Katelyn's story. June can't come soon enough!
