How did Sofia become involved in the research into the Moonflower?
Sofia de Vargas took over the research into the elixir of immortality when she read the research notes her father had bequeathed to her when Indigo had passed them on after her marriage to Captain Zane Thoreau ten years ago.
Does she do the research herself?
No, Sofia finances the laboratory at the University from the profits of her highly successful haute de couture salon in Vienna. Professor Schmidt and two research assistants who report their progress She also co-ordinates the shipments of the moon flower hidden in deliveries via the European rail system.
What does the elixir do?
Sofia has had some concerns with the ethics of creating an elixir for immortality as they really are unsure form the research notes what it will mean exactly. Her father’s notes were inconclusive and they are about to move to the last step when her shipment is compromised.

Annie Seaton lives on the edge of the South Pacific Ocean on the east coast of Australia. Recently retired from the world of full time work, she is fulfilling her lifelong dream of writing, and had instant success! Annie’s working life was spent in education from early childhood through to teaching trainee teachers at university. She has worked as librarian, teacher, technology consultant and university tutor. She has now taken earl retirement and spends her days writing down all the stories in her head.
When she is not writing she can be found in her garden or walking on the beach... or most likely on her deck overlooking the ocean, a chilled glass of sauvignon blanc in hand as the sun sets.
