Today I would like to give a warm welcome to historical romance author, Michelle McLean!
Thanks so much for having me on your blog today!
You know, one of the best parts of sending a new book out into the world was celebrating its release with my family. They have always been my biggest cheerleaders, my staunchest supporters. Family is one of the most important things to me. I’ve always been close to my family and hate the fact that we live so far apart. And although they sometimes drive me crazy, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for them.
But I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I’d ever had to choose between them and someone else I loved. What if my family hadn’t approved of the man I wanted to marry? Or what if my love for and loyalty to my family was in opposition somehow to my love and loyalty to someone else? What do you do when your heart is being pulled in two different directions?
In To Trust a Thief, my heroine Min is faced with just such a decision. Her family and fake fiancé (who is one of her best friends in the world) are in desperate need of cash. Finding the famed Courtland necklace could be their salvation. But the man she’s fallen head over heels in love with also needs the necklace, just as desperately. No matter what she chooses to do, someone she loves is going to be hurt.
To be honest, I have no idea what I’d do in such a situation. How do you choose between your family and the love of your life? I’m grateful I’ve never had to make such a decision. But it was really fun to explore it with Min :)
Minuette Sinclair's parents are in trouble and her fake fiancé is too. A legendary lost necklace might be their salvation, and Min is determined to find it and use it to buy her family and fiancé out of their misfortunes.Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble - Books on Board - Apple iBookstore
Master thief Bryant Westley is also looking for the fabled necklace. He knows Min’s got information he can use so he poses as her dance instructor and tries to seduce it from her. What he doesn’t count on are his feelings for her. He offers to partner up in the search – even though she is a distraction he can’t afford.
Things become more complicated when Min realizes that her convenient engagement means more to her fake fiancé than her and that she’s fallen in love with Bryant. Bryant realizes that he can’t double cross the young lady he’s come to love. Can they find the necklace together and admit their love before it’s too late?

Thanks for hosting me!
ReplyDeleteErin, I haven't been able to go anywhere fun yet for research, but I have been able to meet some people online. I once found a group of pirate enthusiasts who are incredibly knowledgeable and were very happy to share their info with me :)
That would be awful to have to actually choose. That's one thing i love so much about reading. You can experience all these different lives and not have to make the hard decisions! Congrats on your release. I just love the cover on it :)
