Can a kidnapped fairy and a human find love despite all odds?
Nathan Alexander’s batty aunt has done it again. This time she’s sent him a rare plant he doesn’t want. Imagine his surprise when he finds a kidnapped fairy hidden within its leaves. As a man who heads a non-profit organization for abused women and children, Nathan makes it his mission to help her find her way home.
All her life Katenia was warned about the evilness of humans. Never was that proved more true than when she was kidnapped from her quiet valley home. Thrust into the human world, Katenia must fight her very instincts to trust Nathan if she ever hopes to return to her rightful place…and to her normal thumb-sized fairy form.
But with their lives in danger, finding home…and love…will be a journey worthy of a fairy tale.
Thoughts:
MAGICALLY SWEET & EROTICALLY SPICY with STAR-CROSSED LOVERS!
EVER MINE is a darling contemporary fairy tale starring an alpha, swoon worthy male, a fae and a witch. It's the second book in her Dragon Lore series, but I didn't realize that until I'd finished the book and was looking for other books by the author. From my experience, it can be easily enjoyed as a standalone. It is a relatively quick read at just 105 pages. If you seek an escape from reality, EVER MINE certainly fits the bill! It kept me engaged and laughing from the beginning to the end and left me with a warm glow.
Katenia, our heroine, is the perfect spritely Barbie-doll match to moody, handsome Nathan, our hero, Nathan has been terribly maligned by his ex-fiance (who reminded me of Malificent at her worst) leaving Nathan beyond-leery of any other relationship. Then... into his life flitters (literally) vulnerable, naive Katenia, a beautiful fairy who was kidnapped by his aunt. Katenia totally ROCKS his world inside-out and upside-down - something that Nathan doesn't exactly appreciate. I loved the chemistry between the two of them and the supporting characters are incredible also from Nathan's "assistant extraordinaire" at the non-profit he manages, to his evil ex, his sister and niece, his eccentric aunt and his crooked uncle. As a side benefit to this book, Katenia, who was such an innocent to human ways has opened my eyes now to view and appreciate our world a bit differently through her fresh and unorthodox perspective . :-)))
I want to share a few of my favorite quotes ... just as a little teaser:
--
“A low, purring rumble reverberated in his chest, his voice tight when he spoke. "Ah, hell, You're naked.”
--
“The woman had a body wet dreams were made of, and he couldn't remember being this goddamn hard in his life.”
--
“It was time to confront the old bat with the damage she'd caused this time. Then, he promised himself, he'd strangle her for meddling in affairs that were none of her business, and kidnapping a goddamn innocent fairy.”
--
“Katenia, are you drunk?"
"No, it's my breasts. I've yet to adjust to my new size.”
--
“Sex is still on the table. We just keep the yucky love stuff out of it."
"Now where is this table you speak of to have sex on? You should take me there. Now.”

This book was a very enjoyable combination of sweet romance, HOT sex, quirky characters, non-stop action and suspenseful mystery. I giggled, swooned and couldn't put it down once I started it. I wanted to mention a favorite scene but there were so many! Since I couldn't decide which to highlight, I'll go with the first when Nathan and Katenia meet. It was an unconventional beginning to say the least. She's in a flower that has been gifted to Nathan by his dotty aunt. His aunt included a cryptic note that leaves Nathan utterly baffled: "Nathan, Some things broken were never meant to be whole. And sometimes, taking care of something else, puts the pieces back together. Tonight, your life begins again. Take her home with you. Cherish her, and she'll love you forever. Don't screw this one up. Aunt Mellie." LOL! Truer words were never spoken. AND the magic begins....
Bottomline: The author's writing is top-notch, energetic and delightful. The story is magically original and riveting. The characters - human, fae and witch - are all well-drawn and easily relatable. After I read the last sentence in the book, I immediately added Eden Ashe's first book, THE DRAGON'S HEART (Dragon Lore #1), to my to-read-soon-list as this enchanted yarn was such a treat! I'd highly recommend this tale to anyone who enjoys romantic fantasies.
THANK YOU. I've been doing my happy dance for the last five minutes after reading this. (Also, you were right, it's NOT a Dragon Lore book. It was an error that Kensington is working on correcting.)
