Fall to You is the second book in the Here and Now series. It is not a stand-alone and is intended to be read following Lost in Me. Hanna’s story concludes in book three, All for This.
Torn between two men…
When I woke up after the accident, I couldn’t remember anything from the last year—including my relationship with Max Hallowell or anything about Nate Crane. Now my memories are returning, but instead of answering my questions, they’re leaving me with more.
The man who broke my heart and wants to be my future…
Max is all I ever wanted, and now he wants to marry me. He’ll do everything he can to fill my life with love, family, and security. I need those things now more than ever. But can I trust him?
The man who stole my heart and wants to let me go…
Nate never made me promises, and I never asked him to. I’d been on the rebound, looking for a distraction, and he made me feel beautiful and wanted when I needed to feel those things most. He says he has to let me go, but what if I can’t let go of him?
With every revelation and every passing day, I feel more like Alice down the rabbit hole. I’m falling. Who will catch me?
Thoughts:
Fall To You is a sexy, edge-of-your-seat thriller with sizzling hot romance that I could not put down! Be prepared when you pick this book/series up, because it will be a one-sitting read. The series kicked off with a bang with Lost In Me and it's held nothing back going into Fall To You. I was enthralled by the tale Lexi Ryan has spun here; work, text messages, emails, hungry children...these things meant nothing to me while reading!
Hannah's story continues with Fall To You. She is torn between her love for two men. One man, Max Hallowell, who she always dreamed of having a future with and is now offering it to her on bended knee. But can she trust what he says? Or is it her own fears holding her back from a happily-ever-after with him? And then there is Nate Crane. Hannah never expected to fall in love with a rock star. He was just suppose to be a fling. A rebound guy. There were no promises between them, no commitments...at least none that she can remember. As Hannah's memories slowly start to return though, she is left with more questions then answers. She knows that she needs to make a decision, especially as her supposed wedding with Max quickly approaches. But will the decision be ripped from her hands before she has the chance to make it? And what will her future look like if so?
Lexi Ryan has weaved together a compelling story with captivating characters, giving Fall To You the perfect blend of mystery and romance. Layered with unpredictable twists and a story-line that stripped my emotions bare, I have become thoroughly invested in the Here and Now story and it's outcome. Hannah is a relate-able character; what would you do if you woke up in the hospital with the last year of your life a complete blank and two sexy men vying for your attention? I'd probably be as confused and indecisive as Hannah as well!
Readers get a huge glimpse of the past with this book, from Hannah's first searing meeting with Nate to the heartbreaking moments with Max. During these flash backs I'll admit I did get a little frustrated with Hannah and her waffling between Max and Nate, especially after all that Max has put her through compared to how honest Nate was from the beginning. I was shocked by some of the revelations thrown into the present story, I definitely wasn't expecting a few of them. I was pretty disappointed though with Hannah's reaction to one of the more major twists of the story. I think the author could have been more in-depth with that aspect, exposing our emotions further. However, I was clutching the bed sheets to my chest the last 20% of the book, riveted, waiting for that last little twist that I knew was coming! I can't say much more without including spoilers, which just wouldn't be fair with this kind of story. I will say though that the Here and Now series is a must-read for contemporary romance fans and Lexi Ryan's writing is superb. If you love all of those deep, angsty emotions, stories that you can get lost in and resent surfacing from, and nail-biting suspense about a characters future then this story isn't one to miss! Even if you aren't a big fan of love triangles, which I am not, this isn't your typical love triangle story.
