Ahead of time: Make Ginger Simple Syrup1 C sugar
1 C water
2” piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
Combine in a small sauce pan and bring to simmer over medium-low heat.
Simmer until the sugar is dissolved, about 15 minutes
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, then let it cool.
For each cocktail, combine in a cocktail shaker:
2 oz. bourbon, such as Maker’s Mark
1/2 oz. ginger simple syrup
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. brewed black tea (cooled)
Shake slightly, strain over fresh ice, and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
