The last time our guest was here she said she really fell hard for the hero and heroine in her upcoming book, TRUE DIVIDE. And it is finally out, whoohoo! So let’s see what she has to say about these two. welcome back Liora Blake! Thank you so much!
Lexi: We are so excited to have you back and also to talk about the last book in your True series! You were kind enough to show us the cover for TRUE DIVIDE before, and your dropped comment about Lacey and Jake…and then we had to wait! How long have you been done working on book three? Did you have to wait for it to be released too?
TRUE DIVIDE took about six months for me to write, start to finish. After that, it was in my publisher's hands for all the amazing work they put into each release—from developmental edits to copy and line edits, designing a cover, and arranging the marketing side, all those details added about eight months. While the publishing process can take some time, it all pays off in the end!
Lexi: Now, onto your love of Lacey and Jake because you know we have to ask about them. Theirs is a second chance romance, they knew one another in high school but meet again years later. You also gave them time to develop a relationship before getting together, a great way to make them real. Can you tell us about your favorite point of the book?
The bar scene at the beginning became one of my favorites. Lacey and Jake checking each other out, Lacey getting her first glimpse into the kind of man Jake is now, and Dusty, well…Dusty just being Dusty. Blech.
Lexi: Jake is a very direct man, he says exactly what he thinks and wants. Kind of gives you the goose bumps listening to him. And he is a pilot! I imagine a character like this had to have strutted into your consciousness. What was it like when you first started to write about Jake in TRUE DIVIDE?
Oh, Jake. While he didn't quite strut into my imagination, he does have his own special kind of presence. He was easy to write because I have a soft spot for heroes that know what they want and aren't bashful about saying so. But Jake still had a few old wounds that only the town of Crowell can stir up, so despite all his grown-up swagger, he had some things to sort out before he was able to choose Lacey as his forever.
Lexi: It’s a bit sad that this is the end of the True series but what a way to end it! Thank you for giving us Lacey and Jake and for stopping by to talk about TRUE DIVIDE! Congrats on the release and we hope to see you back soon!
A huge thank you for supporting the TRUE Series, I'm thrilled that I was able to share these stories!
