I’ll make this easy, our hero today is a dragon. Welcome Setta Jay!
Hi Lexi! I’m excited to be here.
Lexi: Fascination with dragons has been and always will be popular. And when you add in scorching hot mating scenes the book becomes irresistible! You introduced us to Drake previously but you sure have him in a tough position in the beginning of SEARING ECSTASY. His mate is going mad and he can’t help her. Bomb dropped on Drake’s world. How did you know where to go from there?
I didn’t… LOL I loosely plot the series as a whole, and sometimes have to make adjustments to that after a new release. With book one, I had it all plotted out, or I thought I did. Once I started writing it all went in different directions. As the character’s personalities developed the story went where it wanted to. That was the last time I did any in depth plotting. So, going into Searing Ecstasy I had no idea how Delia and Drake were going to overcome their obstacles. I went in with an idea of what Drake and Delia needed and it morphed from there.
Lexi: Not only did you rearrange Drake’s world, you have created a great complex world for the Guardians of the Realms series. Each book continues to introduce more and more. When you expand and bring in more characters do your maps/character sheets increase?
I would love to say I have true character sheets and maps… but I don’t. So much is in my mind and I can picture it clearly, but I do have multiple spreadsheets with ever expanding information. That being said, I will admit to having gone back to double check small details in previous books.
Lexi: I am so impressed that you can keep track of everyone and everything so well. As a reader it is so much fun to follow a series that has multiple character arcs and relationships. You set up your next books rather well too, you give the future H/H enough involvement or mention to pique our interest without detracting from the main story like Drake and Delia’s. Have you ever wanted to rush a current work in progress to get to the next one, like how bad did you want to just sit and work on Drake’s story?
Thank you so much! I tend to write what I love to read and I’m lucky enough to have a great editor who helps make sure I don’t run off the rails somewhere. As to wanting to write ahead, I’ve been dying to get to Sirena. I’ve had a few other stories I couldn’t wait to get to, but Drake’s definitely wasn’t one of them. LOL I knew that everyone was itching for his book and I was super nervous about it living up to all the expectations. I go through this with every book to some degree because I want every story to be great. But, wow… this was the dragon’s book! Plus, I knew Delia was going to be my biggest writing challenge yet, and she was. I had no idea just how complex she was until it all started. I can only hope that I did her justice in the end.
Lexi: Well we are certainly glad you perfected and finished Drake and Delia’s story! And that you gave it as much heat as you did! Are you finding it challenging to match that heat level with book 8?
I actually love writing sex scenes. LOL Doing them in this series is a blast because we’re dealing with different Immortal races with varying powers that they can use to make the sex hotter. ;) I haven’t started writing book eight yet, but I love that kind of challenge.
Lexi: Bring on the heat! Seriously, if you are in the mood for an erotic PNR this one is for you. Thank you, Setta for stopping by to talk about SEARING ECSTASY! Congratulations on the release!
Thank you so much for having me. xx

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Setta Jay is the author of the popular Guardians of the Realms Series. She's garnered attention and rave reviews in the paranormal romance world for writing smart, slightly innocent heroines and intense alpha males. She loves writing stories that incorporate a strong plot with a heavy dose of heat. Her influences include Judith McNaught who she feels writes a smart heroine to perfection, Gena Showalter, Maya Banks and Lora Leigh. You can often find her writing compared to JR Ward, but if you are a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood be warned that Setta Jay’s novels are more erotic in nature.
Born a California girl, she currently resides in Idaho with her husband of ten plus years who she describes as incredibly sexy and supportive, even when it’s Willy Wednesday on Twitter. ;)
