What are our favorite Christmas Treats? Books, of course! Stop by each blog for a chance to win fabulous books & gifties for the Holidays!
So, the theme of this hop is to share our favorite books for Christmas, so I thought that I would share with you my current reading obsession - the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I have spent the last two weeks devouring this YA fantasy series (with romantic undertones) and I am finally on the last published book, Book #4 Queen of Shadows, with Book #5 still not showing a specific release date. Gah! I am forcing myself to take my time with this book because I know when it ends I will have a severe book hangover, especially with the uncertain wait until the next book's release! This series has such interesting world building and captivating characters. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next with each page I turn. Here is the blurb for the first book in the series, Throne of Glass. Tell me this doesn't entice!
Meet Celaena Sardothien.
Beautiful. Deadly. Destined for greatness.
In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, Celaena, an assassin, is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king’s champion.
The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass—and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.
