INTO THE DARKNESS by Katie Reus  is an exciting, very enjoyable installment in the author's Darkness series! It's a two-for-one featuring a duo of captivating romances in one book. Oh my! Romance is definitely in the air as is danger galore. This tale comprises the steamy meshed stories of warrior wolf-shifter Rhea and alpha dragon Conall AND human Liberty and half-wolf, half-demon Rory.

Even though INTO THE DARKNESS is the fifth book in the series, it can be completely enjoyed as a standalone. There are interconnected characters between all the books in this series, but Katie seamlessly fills in whatever previous historical information the reader may need to know to fully relish the story.

As Bo's and Nyx's totally awesome weeklong wedding festivities get underway, a dark outside force targets the Stavros pack. Pack member Rhea has vowed to never mate again as she cannot be responsible for putting someone she loves at risk; However, Conall cannot imagine living without her and he's determined to show her that they are meant to be together. Liberty has come a long way since being rescued in the last book. After the abuse she suffered in the hell plane, Liberty believes she may be too broken to ever be fully functional; however, Rory is convinced that she is his sunshine and he will wait as long as it takes for her to understand that they belong together. Two couples with intertwined destinies made for a read that I simply could not put down!

I loved all these characters. The two HEA story lines were well-written and played. With two hot romances, well-orchestrated suspense, mind-blowing, fast-paced action and plenty of dangerous sequences, this book kept me on the edge on my seat through-out.

With his supernatural vision he immediately spotted Rhea sitting near the shoreline, her legs stretched out in front of her.
Unfortunately she had on clothing. Not that he'd expected her to be naked. Still, a dragon could dream....
After shifting to his human form he let his camouflage drop and headed toward her.
Naked.
He held onto his clothes, but didn't bother to put them on as he stalked across the sand. Nudity was no big deal to shifters but normally he clothed himself in front of females in socially appropriate situations. Now, the most primal part of him wanted Rhea to see all of him.

Conall growled, baring his canines as if ready to attack. She felt the feral dragon rippling under the surface, felt the exact same way right now.

Katie is one of my very favorite authors. I honestly believe that she cannot write a book that doesn't rock! Every book in this series has been a page-turning winner. I highly recommend INTO THE DARKNESS to anyone who enjoys paranormal urban fantasy romances teeming with perils and heat!
