AWAKENED BY FIRE by Erin Kellison is the second fantastic installment in the author's Dragons of Bloodfire series and my favorite of the series so far! I laughed, swooned and even trembled as I turned the pages at stressful points. There were intense, action-packed fights, cute dialogue and yummy adult lovefests! In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Thane and Emerson from the first book!

This was the story of Warrick Voclain, a sexy billionaire dragon shifter and Bloodkin Triad member, and Samantha Vince, the granddaughter of Warrick's long-time trusted steward. Warrick is hot, hot, hot and his public appearances set off tweet storms as evidenced by the opening quote to this review.

As this tale begins, Samantha has returned home for a family wedding but, what was meant as a short trip, quickly becomes much longer as Warrick's mother demands that Samantha use her secret special gifts to protect her son. However, if Samantha's forbidden magic is exposed while finding the bad guys targeting Warrick, the rules require that she be killed. Warrick is actually one of those tasked with enforcing that rule. Now, Samantha must walk a fine line. She worries about her beloved grandfather suffering consequences if she's caught and about losing independence she's fought so hard for. She must stay under everyone's radar and somehow keep from succumbing to the hot chemistry between her and the powerful dragon that comes to the fore as they chase down leads and threats. Meanwhile, Warrick has never felt this way about a human before and dragons are possessive to the extreme.

Erin is one of my favorite authors. I loved this story - and, great news (!!!!), there's no cliffhanger! This book works well as a standalone, if that is your preference. I bet once you read this story, you'll fall under the author's spell and want to read the first book, too. I can't wait for the next book - SEDUCED BY FIRE! There's a short preview of SEDUCED BY FIRE at the end of this read and, believe me, it will stoke your craving for the next book now! I highly recommend AWAKENED BY FIRE to anyone who enjoys steamy paranormal reads packed with loads of magic and thrills! Just don't expect a single dull moment - as there are none!
