HONOR BOUND by B.J. Daniels is the sixth and final thrilling installment in the author’s intense, action-packed, fast-paced Montana Hamiltons’ series. It’s both a riveting mystery and a hot romance!  As with the previous books, readers are treated to a mosaic of plots within plots within plots. Don’t let that scare you away! I’m always blown away how, under this author’s tutelage, it totally works!

This is the story of Ainsley Hamilton, the oldest daughter of presidential candidate Buckmaster Hamilton, and undercover FBI agent Sawyer Nash. Ainsley stepped in as a mother-figure to her siblings when their mother died. She has always been in the background until now. I’m glad to finally get her story. HONOR BOUND also wraps up Sarah’s ‘Prophecy’ saga and readers become privy to the latest concerning one of my favorite couples, Beartooth, Montana’s Sheriff Frank Curry and Nettie. I was thrilled to read about what they have planned and am hoping, hoping, hoping to read more about them in the future!

HONOR BOUND can be enjoyed as a standalone read if that is your preference. The author seamlessly integrates critical information a novice reader to this series would need to know – so those unfamiliar with the various storylines will never find themselves lost. However, each of the previous books have included clues and each book has deepened the reader’s connection to the primary characters and their backgrounds. So, for maximum enjoyment, it would be best to read this series in order, if you can. Besides, this series has been a fantastic read and, now that the series is tidily wrapped up, you could read it straight through!

As HONOR-BOUND opens, it’s a cold November night in the fairground outside Beartooth, Montana, as the presidential election results are announced over the loudspeakers. The fairground is crawling with security. What part will the ‘Prophecy’ play and will those with parts to play in it irretrievably change the course of the future?

Leading up to this night, Sheriff Frank Curry is seriously worried about Ainsley who has had a mysterious stalker for months. The Sheriff makes a call to Sawyer Nash, who is still recovering from injuries from his last mission, and asks him for a favor. He needs someone he trusts to protect Ainsley and catch whoever has been stalking her. Ainsley is on location scouting shooting locales in the middle of wild, untamed nowhere when Sawyer joins her there mixing in as an extra with the crew.

OMG… B.J. superbly relates this couple’s tale. Ainsley and Sawyer hit it off immediately. We meet Sawyer’s bitter ex-girlfriend FBI agent –  who I wanted to personally bludgeon – and jewel thieves and Ainsley’s scary seriously loco stalker! Ainsley and Sawyer have great chemistry…  but the odds are stacked heavily against them.

If I had one complaint, it would be that that I yearned for more about Cassidy and Jack after the cruel life-changing experiment done on them in the previous book, INTO DUST (#5).  While the author affirms that all is well with them in HONOR BOUND, I still would have liked to read more of their journey of re-igniting their romance and re-uniting as a couple.

B.J.’s Montana Hamiltons’ series has been western romantic suspense at its best. B.J. has a special knack for interweaving multiple plotlines into her stories.  In HONOR BOUND, those twisted, entangled storylines get their stunning, but robust, big bows as they all come together in a stunning conclusion. Characters and events reveal their pre-destined parts as the story surges to an ostensibly dark apocalyptic ending. Truthfully, I spent most of the book on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend HONOR BOUND to anyone who enjoys complex and gripping western romantic suspense.
