Hooked on a Witch by Zoe Forward is the fourth novel in her Keepers of the Veil series. This series revolves around the seven Pleiades witches, their destined mates who protect them and the enemies who are out to kill them. Each of the books works well as a standalone if that is your preference though there are interconnected characters and a common theme. I have enjoyed this series in order. This installment is the story of witch-hunter Jason Merck, son of Poseidon, and Pleiades witch Shannon Randolph.

As the story opens, Shannon is in trouble. She has one week to turnover Poseidon’s Trident, a relic that she does not possess, to a goddess. She has been framed for the theft and, to make things worse, she’s being targeted by an array of the goddess’ evil minions so she is wasting precious time needed to track the artifact trying to stay alive. At her wits end, she enlists the help of magically-talented Jason Merck, a childhood friend, who she hasn’t seen in ten years. Unfortunately, he’s also a witch-hunter which can’t bode well for Shannon.

As the Enforcer, Jason’s job is to fight evil. He knows that Shannon isn’t evil, but that’s a far cry from trusting her. Jason has a huge problem of own – namely his own impending doom and the clock is ticking. Not to mention that Shannon’s family and friends hate and distrust him.

I really liked both Jason and Shannon. The chemistry between them was off-the charts and I couldn’t get enough of their insinuatingly sexy banter. Their steamy scenes were scorchers!

This was a really good addition to the series. I was on the edge-of-my seat as the deadlines for both Jason and Shannon drew near. I thought the wrap-up was perfect. If you enjoy fun, exciting paranormal romantic suspense spiced with Greek mythology and gods and goddesses who love to mess with lives and stir up trouble, I’d encourage you to check out Hooked on a Witch. I can’t wait to see which Pleiades witch will be the focus of the next book!
