She lost him once…

Years ago Samantha made a mistake and lost a chance at something real with Maguire O’Connor. Now that she’s living in Holly again, she knows seeing him is inevitable. But the last thing she ever expected was to take him on as a client.

Now they have a second chance…

Maguire never got over Sam. Thanks to a meddling family member, he mistakenly hires Sam as his real estate agent. With her in his sights again, he’s not letting her go. But someone from her past followed her back to Holly with a sinister intent. Now Maguire will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he intends to claim as his forever.

Linda's Thoughts:
Three years ago hadn’t been the right time for them. Now certainly was.

It’s Me Again, Baby is a wonderful second chance—at- love story by the mega-talented Katie Reus! Katie is one of my favorite authors and this book is the perfect blend of steamy romance and dangerous suspense. While it’s the third installment in Katie’s O’Connor Family series and characters from the previous books do make appearances, It’s Me Again, Baby can be easily enjoyed as a standalone if that is your preference.

This is the story of Samantha and Maguire O’Connor. Their tale is told from their dual points-of-view. Samantha walked away from Maguire years ago due to a huge misunderstanding. Neither has forgotten the other. Now, years later, Samantha has moved back to Holly, North Carolina – where it’s Christmas all year long - to be close to her mother. As the story opens, Maguire is looking to buy a new home and is surprised to discover that the woman he’s not been able to forget is his realtor.

Both Samantha and Maguire are likable, genuine characters with hot chemistry from the get-go. They have a history – so, technically, it’s not insta-love. Katie writes awesome alpha heroes and Maguire fits the alpha hero persona to the tee. He certainly flaunts it in this tale as Samantha has a threatening, unstable stalker and Maguire’s protective instincts are hastened to the forefront forthwith. Maguire is used to making decisions, issuing orders and having them followed without question. But, Samantha is an adult and has been living independently for years. She understands where he is coming from but she is no pushover. I especially like how the couple amicably works through the issue in an adult manner.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from It’s Me Again, Baby:

She was always the woman he didn’t want to lose…
---

“Maguire?”
His name on her lips brought up too many naked memories.
---

Taking her completely by surprise, he leaned down and strapped her in, his face only inches from hers as he took his time. He smelled fresh, crisp and oh so masculine. All she wanted to do was bury her face against his neck and breathe him in. Okay, she wanted to do more than that, but he smelled…

I listened to It’s Me Again, Baby. Sophie Eastlake does a great job bringing the story to life. Her voices of each gender are clear and sound realistic. She consistently differentiates between the characters and exudes the appropriate emotions. I love audios and, given a choice between reading the book and listening to Sophie perform it, I’ll choose Sophie’s narration every time.

I love this series featuring the HEA stories of the O’Connor siblings! If you enjoy well-plotted, exciting, heartwarming, sweet and sexy romances with a generous side of dangerous suspense, I’d highly encourage you to check out Katie Reus’ O’Connor Family series.
