It started with a kiss.
Then it became so much more.
Love at first sight.
Avery Connor doesn’t believe in it.
But what about love at first kiss?
A favor for a friend. Kiss a stranger and walk away.
But what if that favor, and that stranger, prove to be the turning point of her life?
What if that kiss leads to something more?
Dr. Daniel Spencer is certain it will.
He is determined to make her see him. To feel what he feels.
To have the effects of that kiss last forever.
A story about taking a chance, opening your heart to the moment, and falling in love.

Linda's Thoughts:
“Give me three…”

It Started with a Kiss marks my first – and probably my last - foray into the world of its author, Melanie Moreland. It’s well-written, but, unfortunately, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. For those who like nothing more than unicorns, rainbows and fluffy sugary sweetness overload, It Started with a Kiss will, hands-down, be your nirvana. I listened to the whole thing, waiting for something, anything, to happen. No angst, drama or conflict other than a quick, small argument about her driving. NADA. NONE. There’s so much sweetness that my teeth were telling me that I had developed a cavity from listening to it.

This is the story of veterinarian doctor Daniel Stewart and Avery Connor. They met with a serendipitous kiss. During that first kiss, they fall in insta-love and he begins a lifetime of worshipping her like a goddess. She’s a super sweet heroine with an obsessive fear of clowns. They and their story are all too sublime and I had trouble relating to them as being real.

Following please find a few typical quotes from It Started with a Kiss:

“Maybe you’d like to ride a different stallion.”
---

“Can I keep you, Avery Connor? Will you be mine?”

“Please.”

His smile was brighter than the sun in mid-July. “Good answer.”
---

“I wasn’t in love with Daniel. I only met him an hour ago. That was impossible. Wasn’t it?”

The two epilogues are the best parts of this book in my view – especially the one regarding the daddy/daughter dates.  I actually teared up listening to both of them.

There are two narrators of this tale - John Lane and Tatiana Sokolov -  and both are quite good. John Lane’s low sexy voice in the chapters that he has all to himself kept me from hitting stop when I was waffling on whether to continue listening. Their voices are pleasant, clear and easy to understand. If you enjoy romances with absolutely no angst whatsoever, I’d encourage you to check out the audio edition as it’s well done and the end product is polished.

This is a cheesy, breakneck romance with plenty of sex – though there’s not much in the way of describing the act or body parts. Honestly, this book was almost a DNF for me through-out as I struggled with finishing it. The epilogues were great and redeemed the story sufficiently to bring my rating up to almost a three. That said, It Started with a Kiss is definitely an example of different strokes for different folks as this book has loads of five-star reviews. So… if you love sugary sweet romances with no discord, this book may rock your boat too!
