Celebrate the holidays with USA Today bestselling author Debbie Mason's heartwarming novella about a town called Christmas.
Charlotte Bailey needs a miracle. She came to this sleepy little Colorado town to keep the local hospital afloat, but now her scrooge of a boss is demanding she close it down. Charlotte is going to need all the help she can get, even from Dr. McSexy--er, Dr. Matt Trainer--if she's to save Christmas before, well, Christmas!
All Matt wants for Christmas is for Charlotte to give it--and him--half a chance. But with the town looking to him to save the hospital and Charlotte itching to get back to New York in time to see the city decked out in lights, Matt doesn't have much time to make things right. But he's got faith--after all, miracles happen every day in Christmas.
Linda's Thoughts:
“The town looks like it belongs on a Christmas card or in a snow globe. It’s so Christmassy, even Santa set up a second workshop here.”
Miracle at Christmas by Debbie Mason is a festive, lovely and sweet contemporary romance set in the decked-out small-town of Christmas, Colorado. It stars two physicians: Dr. Charlotte Bailey and Dr. Matt “McSexy” Trainer. Even though Miracle at Christmas is number 7.5 in the series, it can be fully enjoyed as a stand alone if that is your preference. Regardless, you can expect to have your appetite whetted for more of Debbie’s wonderful holiday books.
After Charlotte caught her ex cheating on her in New York City, she’s banished to Christmas, Colorado tasked with turning the financials of the hospital there to black from red. She has been successful and returns to New York expecting a promotion. Instead she learns that she’s now assigned the task of shutting down the same hospital she’d worked so hard to save. But, Charlotte doesn’t know how she can harden her heart to take the hospital away from the town along with the jobs of the employees she’d grown to care for – especially hot Dr. Matt Trainer. Actually, the more she tries to keep her distance from Matt and the town, the closer she grows to them. Will there be a Christmas miracle for the couple and the town?
Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Miracle at Christmas:
“Charlotte, keep your eyes and heart open to miracles. They happen when you least expect them. All you have to do is believe.”
---
“You don’t need an extra blanket or a sweatshirt. You’ve got me to keep you warm.”
---
“We both know just because you want something doesn’t mean it’s good for you.”
He tried to keep from smiling. “You think I’m bad for you?”
Miracle at Christmas is well-written with realistically-drawn characters you’ll quickly come to love. It’s a short read perfect for a quick escape. It certainly held my interest from the beginning to the end as Debbie incorporated some surprising twists and colorful townfolk to keep the story fresh. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who enjoys sweet holiday reads or who needs a boost to their Christmas spirit.
