A sexy, small town, fake boyfriend rom com!

Josh Landry is one of the hottest bartenders in New Orleans. He’s shown many a female tourist that things are definitely big and easy down here.

And he’s now been celibate for a year. Because he finally met her.

Yes, her. The One.

But, after nothing more than a hot goodnight kiss and a promise to meet up again next year if they’re both still interested, she went home to Iowa.

It’s been a long year.

But now it’s Mardi Gras again and he’s ready for his happily ever after.

If she shows up.

***

Oh, she shows up. For her best friend’s wedding.

But Tori is a terrible bridesmaid because all she can think about is her knight-in-shining-Mardi-Gras-beads from last year.

Well, and because she accidentally lays a hot kiss on her BFF.

Aka, the groom.

Unfortunately, no one believes that it was a case of mistaken identity. So, now she has to convince everyone she has no intention of ruining the wedding. She’s going to need a crazy-about-her boyfriend ASAP. Even if he’s just faking it.

Well there’s only one other person she knows in Louisiana...

Josh is all in. In fact, he’s thrilled. And he’s not faking anything.

But the groom isn’t faking his case of cold feet either.

And now Tori might have a choice to make.

Linda's Thoughts:
“We’ll give it a year. And then, if we’re still thinking about each other and want to see each other again, we’ll both show up at Bourbon O on Mardi Gras. If we’re both there, we’ll know.”

I absolutely LOVED this book! My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is the wonderfully sexy and laugh-out-loud-funny opener to Erin Nicholas’ brand new Boys of the Bayou series. I’m admittedly already a fan of Erin’s, but this tale simply blew me away with its awesomeness. Her writing whisks me right in the story with the characters that are so well-developed that I feel that I can touch them.  I could have stayed in this world forever and I’ve not been able to stop thinking about these characters and this story since I finished it.

This is the lovely story of bartender Josh Landry and veterinarian Victoria “Tori” Kramer. They met one year ago on Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. As their tale opens, we catch up with Josh who is elbowing his way through the crazy Mardi Gras crowds to see if the girl who makes him want to act like a crazy romantic has showed up at the Bourbon O bar as they’d agreed last year. The two didn’t share phone numbers or addresses so they’ve not communicated for a full year. So, will she show?

Tori’s best friend, Andrew, is getting married. Tori is the ninth bridesmaid in his wedding since it’s not appropriate for her to be his best man. Tori is not excited about the wedding as she feels that Andrew is making a mistake. Besides, on this Fat Tuesday, she can’t stop thinking this is the night she’s supposed to be meeting up with with Josh who she’s not been able to get out of her mind since she met him at the Bourbon O last year. When she desperately needs a date to the wedding, Josh steps up to the plate. Oooh La La! What can go wrong?

These are the best couple ever. Josh lives in Autre, a parish in the shadow of New Orleans. He has a large, colorful, loving family who has a history of falling hard and quick for the love of their lives. They are also pains more often than not. Regardless, I wish I had a grandma like his Ellie! She’s a hoot! Josh had a well-earned playboy reputation. However, he said sayonara to his womanizing ways once he met Tori. He’s outgoing and enjoys promoting New Orleans to anyone who will listen.

Tori lives with a menagerie of special needs rescue animals in a small town in Iowa. She’s quiet, a loner and has a reputation for being weird. She’s a champion in my eyes as she is an avid animal lover. Even though they seem to be opposites, she and Josh make the most beautiful music together. But, there’s no future for them when they live so far apart… Or is there?

Following please find a few of my favorite lines from My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding.  I adored the whole book and pulling a few quotes ended up being much harder than normal as there were so many that qualified.

There were naked breasts everywhere. Literally.
---
“Don’t go stargazing with anyone else. You want stars, I’ll give you stars.”
---
“So how do you feel about weddings?”

“Are you proposing?” he asked.
---
She sighed. “Kittens.”

“And hot barn stall sex.”

“Not necessarily in that order.”

If you enjoy contemporary, small-town romances with hot heroes – and who doesn’t? – I promise you will love My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding! This book is incredibly perfect. Just make sure you have time to read it all the way through as you most assuredly won’t want to put it down until you’ve inhaled every single word. Also, if I were you, I’d cook up a batch of corn grits to dive into. This tale will give you some serious cravings. Next up in Erin’s Boys of the Bayou series is Owen Landry’s story. There’s a brief set-up for it within this tale’s epilogue that will whet your appetite. Needless to say, but I can’t wait!
